South Shore Insight Meditation Center (SSIMC) is dedicated to teaching, exploring and embodying the Buddha's teachings of wisdom and compassion. As an inclusive and welcoming community, we support the practice of awareness here and now in our daily lives, with respect for the body, heart and mind. The Theravada lineage and the Western Vipassana union of innovative teachings along with yogic practices are the heart and ground of South Shore Insight.
SSIMC was founded the summer of 2013 by Paul Cheevers and Madeline Klyne. The Fourth of July is remembered and celebrated as SSIMC’s anniversary and Interdependence Day.
SSIMC moved into its current location just steps from the ocean in Plymouth, Massachusetts during a low tide of the pandemic (late summer 2020) after having been at a Hanover, MA location since the summer of 2014.
South Shore Insight welcomes all.

Paul cheevers, teacher at SSIMC
Paul is the Founder Remaining and Teacher of South Shore Insight.
Paul loves the clarity of the Eight Fold Path and sharing its relationship to the yoga before and beyond Western ideas of asana.
Over past decades, Paul has practiced in Zen and Theravada traditions: his two-and-a-half-month retreat traveling alone in India was a Dhamma-refining training experience. He has also trained at Spirit Rock and CIMC. His first experience with formal silent meditation rewinds to the early 1980s at a Catholic retreat center.
Paul’s teaching is focused around the South Shore at SSIMC. He grew up in Brighton, MA and lived for years in Manhattan. Paul now lives on Boston’s South Shore and is the author of Mindfuling… DIY: Dhamma It Yourself (2019) and diverse related doings through AWAKEwax.com.
Paul has a Master’s degree from NYU and a BA from Boston College.
